Description
Mike Kennaw is at the helm of the Sustainable Building Products Division of Airlite Plastics. This division is responsible for the manufacturing, sales and distribution of Fox Blocks ICFs and TRUEGRID Permeable Pavers. This nomination applies to both Mike Kennaw and his Fox Blocks Team that consists of Regional Sales Advisors, Business Development Advisors, Training Department, Customer Service, Supply Chain Specialists, Logistics Coordinators and a Marketing Team who all promote the advantage of Insulated Concrete Forms and concrete construction across the US and Canada, for the design and construction of high-performance commercial and residential projects that are durable, resilient, energy-efficient and sustainable.
Evidence
In 2019 the team lead by Mike Kennaw, V.P. and GM saw a need to develop the Fox Blocks Integrated Learning Center (ILC) to create free online installer training programs utilizing the experience and educational resources of the Fox Blocks Training Department. Because of the team’s collective foresight, we were able to launch the industry first fully comprehensive online Installer Training program which launched in October of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This allowed contractors, builders, architects, engineers, developers and homeowners to learn, step by step, more about the benefits of Insulated Concrete Forms, and how to correctly and efficiently install them. This was groundbreaking! Once the ILC launched we saw the number of certified Primary Installers grow month over month and they continue to do so to this day. Our vision recognized the need to offer than same Primary Installer training program in Spanish from a Spanish ILC website - Centro de Aprendizaje de Fox Blocks and that platform successfully launched in December 2022. The Training Department has also created a four-hour live classroom version of the primary installer training which is presented by a Fox Blocks Regional Advisor. Comprehensive education and installation training for the ICF industry is paramount to advance the benefit awareness and correct use of ICFs across the country. The availability of free in-depth training and technical resources is a mainstay of Fox Blocks.
