CONCERA® enables mixes from drycast to SCC the ability to increase productivity, reduce costs, enhance workability and help achieve sustainability goals. The versatile, segregation-resistant concrete produced with CONCERA® consistently performs and takes less labor to place and finish compared to conventional concrete.
Evidence
Recently awarded the 2023 Constructech Top Products Award in the Trusted Product Category, CONCERA® All-in-One Admixture was introduced as a control-flow solution, and quickly became a trusted leader. However, the more it was used the more customers learned it could be used in a variety of applications and is now a versatile all-in-one solution.
CONCERA® All-in-One Admixture makes consistent, high quality concrete easily achievable for ready mix precast and concrete contractors. The unique combination of polycarboxylate dispersants and rheology modifiers give CONCERA® All-in-One Admixture its flexibility for a variety of applications, from low slump mixes that easily slide down a truck chute and quickly feed through curb and barrier machines, to higher flow mixes that will pump consistently for several hundred feet.
CONCERA® enables the discharge of dry-cast, zero slump and low slump fast and efficiently. This improves cycle times and feed rates of curbing, barrier wall, pipe machines and hollow-core. In addition, CONCERA® results in improved strength and durability through better cement dispersion, compaction and hydration along with superior finishability and form finish.
One example is the use of CONCERA® All-in-One Admixture on a Midcontinent Concrete and Manhattan Road and Bridge. The challenges of the project were:
Discharge prone to locking up and slow
Labor intensive; 10-man crew
Required significant effort to finish due to tearing
and bugholes requiring 3 finishers to repair and brush
Finishers consistently using water
Slow discharge and machine feed rates required
minimum 30 minutes spacing between truckloads
To solve these challenges the contractor chose to replace previous water reducer with CONCERA® All-in-One Admixture. The results were impressive:
Increased productivity 30%+ (paver moving faster)
Bughole-free finish directly from the machine form
Discharge very easy and quick; concrete slides down
chute without assistance even at reduced inclines
Truckload spacing for discharge was reduced from 30
minutes to 15 minutes
