Description

The JanVeek Model 1000 is a pioneering tilt-up concrete home, redefining residential construction with a focus on durability, energy efficiency, and rapid build times. As Ontario’s first tilt-up concrete home builder, JanVeek Concrete Homes is setting a new standard for affordable and resilient housing.

A key partner in this innovation was Lafarge Canada, an NRMCA member company and the project’s concrete supplier. Lafarge’s high-performance mix design played a crucial role in the success of the Model 1000, delivering exceptional strength, insulation properties, and reduced embodied carbon while maintaining cost efficiency.

The Model 1000’s tilt-up panels integrate exterior cladding, insulation, and structural strength into a single system, eliminating the need for additional framing. This all-in-one approach results in faster construction, lower long-term maintenance, and increased energy efficiency. With Lafarge’s expertise in mix optimization, the project achieved:

Faster curing times, reducing construction delays.
Improved thermal performance, leading to lower energy costs.
Higher resistance to fire, wind, and extreme weather, ensuring long-term durability.
Sustainable material choices, cutting embodied carbon while maintaining superior strength.
This groundbreaking project has been recognized with both an Ontario Concrete Award and a Tilt-Up Concrete Association Achievement Award, further highlighting its architectural, structural, and environmental excellence.
