Project Name
Lalley Boulevard Home

Description
This house is a modern, fire and storm resistant structure that saves energy, blends into the neighborhood surroundings, and is a few blocks from the Long Island Sound. The project meets voluntary green building standards. The exterior wall construction is Insulated Concrete Form (ICF), which provides greater energy savings, sound proofing, and safety than wood-built homes. The ICF is valued at R22 and performs at R42. The house is on 30 piles, raised to FEMA standards, and even dramatic flooding will not damage the structure or affect the living spaces. The windows and doors have a average U value of 1.2. The construction materials include exterior ICF walls, metal interior wall studs, and metal ceiling trusses. The house is an all-electric home and has no oil or gas and exceeds passive house standards. The ICF wall is highly insulated with no thermal bridging. The house has triple pane windows and heat pump heat and cooling, water saving toilets, and energy star appliances.
Created a durable, comfortable, maintenance free and healthy home
• ICF will far outlast a wood frame home - hurricane and flood resistant.
• ERV system draws fresh air into the home, pulls stale air out
• Interior walls and floor structures are metal framed preventing home loss, in the case of fire
• Home’s soundproofing surpasses wood frame
• No wood in exterior or interior walls to rot nor grow mold
• No termite or insects penetrate ICF
