Project Name
Component Operations Jacksonville Facility by Scannell Properties

Description
Component Operations Jacksonville Facility is a 150K SF building owned by Scannell properties being built and leased to Boeing for component assembly and finishing. There was approximately 7,000 CY of concrete placed in the structure. The foundations were spread footings and grade beams with anchor bolts. SOG was 8” thick in the operations area and 5” thick in the office area. Tilt-up panels were 9-1/4” thick. The SOG was specified to be polished with an FF/FL spec of 25/20. Preconstruction discussions started in Late June 2023 and structural concrete concluded in December.
Evidence
We used a PLC IL(13) and 25% slag cement for a polished warehouse floor. Also changed the specified 0.45 w/c ratio to a 0.50 w/c ratio for increased workability using the PLC and slag. We also used an intermediate aggregate to increase the total coarse aggregate volume to lower shrinkage and curling of the slab. The same mix design was also used for the tilt-up panels.
