NRMCA Members, CHRYSO and GCP, part of Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals, offer global construction solutions that help customers achieve carbon reduction and contribute to net zero strategies through the efficient and cost-effective use of materials.

Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals provides cement additives, concrete admixtures and specialty building materials, through the combined ventures of CHRYSO and GCP. Over the past 15 years, CHRYSO has bolstered its expertise in the field of low carbon impact concrete admixtures. Backed by a highly innovative technological portfolio, CHRYSO offers specific know-how adapted to the chemistry of new low-carbon concretes using high content of Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM), such as fly ashes, natural pozzolan, slag, silica fume, and more, including new SCM such as calcined clay. GCP’s legacy of first to market and award-winning solutions and their high-quality, energy-efficient cement additives and expert technical services have earned them the title of global leader in all aspects of cement production. Together, CHRYSO and GCP provide customers with a complete package of products, services and knowledge that extends through concrete production, delivery, placement and finishing.

CHRYSO and GCP would like to nominate their EnviroMix® for the Concrete Innovations Innovative Product Award. EnviroMix® is the first global range of admixture solutions and services for low-carbon concrete. The EnviroMix® innovative products and services are aimed at reducing and controlling the carbon footprint of concrete, dedicated to the ready-mix and precast concrete industries.

Evidence

EnviroMix® combines technical performance and carbon footprint reduction, delivering a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 50%.

With this new comprehensive EnviroMix® product range, CHRYSO and GCP have new development levers for the construction industry by delivering solutions to produce low-carbon concrete without compromising performance and quality specifications. Customers can benefit from dedicated services such as EnviroMix®Impact, which allows the environmental impact calculation of a concrete mix design and to set up a formulation strategy adapted to their target.

EnviroMix® has accelerated countless projects while lowering the carbon footprint. One example is the construction of the largest highway interchange in Texas. The immense project required 550,00 m3 of concrete to build 43 bridges and 710 columns. By implementing EnviroMix® the project was completed one year early and reduced the carbon footprint by 30%.

Another example of EnviroMix® speeding up project completion is in a paving job in Dallas Fort Worth. EnviroMix®’s superior placability and finishability resulted in a more efficient job completion and reduced the carbon footprint by 35%.

The new range of tailor-made admixtures EnviroMix® combines technical performance and carbon footprint reduction, to pick up the pace of the low-carbon transition in the construction industry. CHRYSO and GCP support industry stakeholders in this low carbon revolution.
